Spring 2015 / Progressive Grocer Products Showcase 3 5 REFRIGERATED Sriracha hummus Tribe's latest Limited Batch flavor is Fiery Sriracha, which started rolling out to grocery stores mid-February. The new flavor blends the brand's creamy classic hummus and chili- pepper-based sriracha sauce. The blend is also topped with red-pepper flakes to increase the heat. Tribe currently offers hummus products that are kosher-certified, vegan- friendly and free of artificial flavors, cholesterol, hydrogenated oils and high-fructose corn syrup. An 8-oz. bowl retails for $3.49. Tribe Hummus Taunton, Mass. Pasteurized eggs National Pasteurized Eggs, also known as Davidson's Safest Choice Eggs, have been pasteurized in a warm-water bath to eliminate the risk of salmonella. Farm-fresh eggs are heated to the exact temperature needed to destroy bacteria without cooking the egg or changing its taste. Because the surface of each egg has 17,000 tiny pores, a thin layer of food-grade wax coats the eggs to prevent cross contamination and extend shelf life. The eggs are available in All Natural and Cage Free varieties. National Pasteurized Eggs Lansing, Ill. artisan soups Blount Fine Foods, the manufacturer of artisan soups, sauces and side dishes, has added a 10-oz. grab-and-go Beef Chili with Beans to its portfolio. The new offering includes ground beef, red and green bell peppers and kidney beans simmered in a rich, chunky tomato sauce with traditional spices. The entire line is shipped and sold for retail in cases of eight 10-oz. cups. Blount Fine Foods Fall River, Mass. Tender leaf salads State Garden Inc. expanded its conventional Simple Beginnings line by adding new size offerings for two of its popular tender-leaf salad varieties. The company launched Simple Beginnings Baby Arugula and 50/50 Blend in 11-oz. clamshell containers. State Garden also offers five varieties of Simple Beginnings Tender Leaf Salads in 5-oz. clamshell packages: Spring Mix, Baby Spinach, 50/50 Blend, Baby Arugula, and Baby Kale. Baby Spinach and Spring Mix in 11-oz. clamshells also are available. State Garden Inc. Chelsea, Ma. Premium juice drinks The Coca-Cola Co. introduced Simply Juice Drinks, a premium line of all-natural, not-from-concentrate juice drinks. Available in Fruit Punch, Tropical, and Mixed Berry, each flavor offers premium, simple ingredients. Simply Juice Drinks are made with juices and purees and have no added preservatives, color or artificial flavors. All three flavors are available in the 59-oz. Simply carafe. The Fruit Punch and Tropical flavors also are offered in a grab-and-go, 11.5-oz. single-serve carafe. The Coca-Cola Co. Atlanta almond-based creamers Califia Farms expanded its plant-based, dairy-alternative products with its new line of Almondmilk Coffee Creamers. The creamers are made with almond cream and are oil-free, chemical-free, GMO-free, soy-free and gluten- free. The line includes four flavors: Vanilla, Hazelnut, Pecan Caramel, and Original. Califia Farms is headed by plant-based beverage guru Greg Steltenpohl, who was most notably the founder of Odwalla Inc. Califia Farms Los Angeles Fire-roasted sausage Eckrich introduced Eckrich Fire- Roasted Pepper & Onion Smoked Sausage. Cooked over natural hardwood, with bell peppers and sweet onions roasted over direct flames, the product delivers authentic smokehouse taste. Eckrich offers more than 15 varieties of smoked sausage, with this being its first fire-roasted offering. Other popular products include Original, Polska Kielbasa, Bacon and Cheddar, Jalapeno and Cheddar, and 4-Pepper. John Morrell Food Group Huntersville, N.C. Relaunched salsas Sabra Dipping Co. has relaunched its eight refrigerated salsas with the support of its "Made with Love" ad campaign. Available in Homestyle Medium, Homestyle Mild, Mango Peach, Restaurant Style, Roasted Garlic, Pico de Gallo, Southwestern, and Garden Style varieties, the new recipes feature more crisp vegetables for a fresher, chunkier salsa.
